I love hearing this and I do several of them for my family, It’s just stuff I do without thinking of it but I am glad to see it articulated. One thing we do here in the Deep South is to walk people out to their cars, sometimes to talk another 15 minutes! Have a lovely day ☺️
That is so nice! But here if I walk people to their car or even out onto the porch as they are leaving, they seem pretty annoyed. I don't really see neighbors seeing anyone off either. I think people don't want to get into another 15 minute conversation out by the car. I don't mind it, but I guess in the big city everyone is in such a hurry or something. It's sad.
Beautifully written. It is so special that you notice each thing! As a grandma, we do so many little things like you listed, and sometimes wonder if it matters. The gatherings are often noisy and have a chaotic feel, but I do my best to make sure everyone feels seen and loved. I love being a grandma!
Well, I love your mom and I’m sure we would be fast friends! I have 5 grown sons and daughters in-love and almost 15 grands! I host them and several other friends and neighbors every week. They aren’t all able to come every week, but most do. It is an absolute joy to host them and our friends and neighbors. Give your mom a hug from her unknown friend! 💕💕

We live in the big city up north and walk people to cars and talk and chat.
Love these, Sarah! So sweet!
thanks Emily!!
I hope everybody does the kitchen clean up for her! She must be exhausted at the end of the day!

Thank you Kate!! Nothing better than family dinners (:
My parents were exactly the same way, and our family has a wealth of memories of being loved well at their house. You are so blessed!
Yes I do many of these things for kids and grandkids. Unconditional love and then you reap the rewards.
So very warm and fuzzy! You’re all so fortunate!
